HOUSTON — Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at an event in the Houston area today.
The event will be held at Trendsetter Engineering, Inc., which is located at 10430 Rodgers Road. Doors open at 1 p.m. and it's scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Attendees must register for tickets in order to go. You can register online on a first-come-first-served basis.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office on Thursday announced some road closures for the former president's visit. The northbound Spring Cypress exit of 249 will be closed, along with the southbound Jones Road exit U-turn lane. Additionally, feeder roads are expected to have heavy traffic caused by spectators for the motorcade.
The event is expected to end around 5 p.m.
The event comes amid a flurry of legal battles surrounding Trump's alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and alleged fraudulent business dealings.
In a Georgia case, four defendants have pleaded guilty to their roles in trying to help overturn Trump's election loss in the state.
Trump's fixer, Michael Cohen, testified in New York last week that he was told to boost the former president's asset values "arbitrarily."
