Orange man arrested in federal drug raid

An Orange man was arrested Friday morning after federal and county drug authorities raided two different homes in Orange.

Grover Lee Roberts, 65, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.

According to a press release issued by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, warrants were executed at 1412 S. Hart and 1307 14th Street at about 6 a.m. Friday morning. Authorities say Roberts is a "long time distributor of crack cocaine in the city of Orange." The charge carries a sentence between 5 and 40 years in prison.

A second man, Jerry Williams, 54 was also found in one of the homes and is charged with possession of a controlled substance after authorities say they found crack cocaine on him.

The warrants were executed by the Orange County Sheriff's Department SWAT team and officers from the US Marshal's Service. They say Roberts was in possession of a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol when he was arrested and an additional 12 grams of crack cocaine.

According to the press release, federal authorities are looking to seize both properties named in the warrants. They expect other arrests to be made in connection to the investigation.
