PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A man is in critical condition this morning after a late night fight in Port Arthur.

The fight happened in the 4000 block of Gulfway Drive just after midnight behind a business, Port Arthur Police Officer Matt Bulls said in a news release. The business is a Mexican restaurant, according to Google Maps.

Port Arthur Police found the victim with a large cut on his arm at another location—the 1900 block of 11th Avenue, about four blocks away. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man "bleeding profusely," Bulls said.

Officers searched a large area to find the original crime scene, Bulls said.

A suspect, who was found behind the restaurant at the crime scene, is in custody, Bull said. The man injured underwent surgery overnight. The Port Arthur Police's Criminal Investigation Division questioned the suspect.

None of the names of the people involved have been released, but the investigation is ongoing.
