ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A woman was flown to a hospital suffering from critical burns after intentionally setting a house on fire during an eviction.

Just before 9 a.m. Friday morning, the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2800 block of Abes Dr. after receiving reports that a person would not leave the property.

Police say that the eviction turned into a trespass when the woman refused to obey orders and did not leave the property.

A disturbance took place during the eviction and the woman intentionally set the house on fire by lighting an unknown accelerant, according to police.

The woman was flown to the hospital by air ambulance in critical condition after being severely burned while lighting the fire.

The scene is being investigated by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
