West Orange volunteer Fire Chief dies after illustrious 30-year career

"He loved being with his family and taking family vacations. Dean had a servant's heart and loved serving his community," read Dysons obituary.

WEST ORANGE, Texas — Arthur Dean Dyson passed away last Friday, June 19, at 68-years-old.

The former West Orange Volunteer Fire Chief had retired nearly a year ago after wrapping up an impressive 30 year firefighting career.

In that time Dyson was an Officer, Captain, Assistant Fire Chief, and Fire Chief.

Even as he bravely risked his own safety for the good of his community, Dyson still found the time to coach Little League Baseball and was a member of West Orange Lions Club for many years.

"He loved being with his family and taking family vacations. Dean had a servant's heart and loved serving his community," read Dysons obituary.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024 with the funeral service being held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Cowboy Church, Orange, Texas. Pastor Harland Strother and Bro. Jeff Bell will be officiating. Interment to follow at Wilkinson Cemetery, Orange, Texas.
