West Orange-Stark High School Choir Director dies at 69-years-old

"He touched the lives of so many with his gift of beautiful music. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time," said WOCCISD.

WEST ORANGE, Texas — In a post on Facebook, West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District announced that West Orange-Stark High School Choir Director, Dr. Lawrence Ingram, has sadly passed away.

"With deep sorrow, we regret to inform you that we have lost a wonderful and committed member of our Mustang family, Dr. Lawrence Ingram, WOSHS Choir Director," WOCCISD said in the post, "He touched the lives of so many with his gift of beautiful music. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time." 

A devastated West Orange community has been posting condolences and paying respects across social media in the wake of Dr. Ingram's passing. Many have left touching stories about the impact he made as an educator and a mentor.

The Texas Mass Choir, a gospel music organization, called Dr. Ingram "a beloved maestro" and "one of the pillars" of its program.

Texas Mass Choir mourns the passing of one of the pillars of our organization, Dr. Lawrence Ingram. We earnestly pray for his family as we await details regarding final arrangements.
