ORANGE, Texas — Veterans in Orange County will have a better idea of the resources that are available to them thanks to an exciting event happening on Friday.
The 2024 Southeast Texas Stand Down event kicks off at the Orange County Convention Center at 9 a.m. on May 17.
The event is free and there will be everything from shelter and housing information to medical screenings available to veterans.
"It's an incredible honor. We are so grateful and blessed. The Stand Down committee, they work tirelessly to make these events happen and these are volunteers," said Southeast Texas Veterans 4 Veterans (V4V) President Damian Bennett.
Organizers are encouraging everyone to come out to the event.
"Any veteran who has any need can come out here and there will be somebody who can help them," said SETX V4V Vice President Bruce Hamilton.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will have nearly 60 vendors.
