Two killed in single-vehicle crash on FM 363 in Newton County

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Connie Smith.

NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed two people Friday afternoon.

Troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatality crash that happened on Farm-to-Market Road 363, east of Bleakwood in Newton County. 

Around 3:45 p.m., a Ford F-250 pickup was traveling eastbound on FM 363. It was reported that the pickup went off the road and flipped multiple times.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Sherrill Reese, 65, of Newton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Justice of the Peace Connie Smith. 

One passenger, identified as Vyazma Todd,37, of Newton, was also pronounced dead on scene by Justice of the Peace Smith.

DPS is still investigating the crash and more information will be released at a later time
