Twin Peaks biker driving stolen bike killed after police chase

A man indicted in the deadly 2015  Twin Peaks shooting was killed after a high-speed chase Friday in the intersection of East Main Street and Lovers Lane.

A man indicted in the deadly 2015 Twin Peaks shooting was killed after a high-speed chase Friday in the intersection of East Main Street and Lovers Lane.

Police said 29-year-old Trey Alston Short was traveling eastbound at an extremely high rate of speed on a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the 1000 block of West Main Street. An officer attempted to stop the motorcycle. However, the driver sped up in an attempt to elude him.

Short collided with a minivan at the intersection causing the van to roll over. He was thrown of the bike and died at the scene. The driver and passenger of the minivan, both of Gatesville were transported to Coryell Memorial Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation by authorities learned the motorcycle driven by Short was reported stolen out of Waco in June 2016. The bike was currently displaying a fictitious license plate.

Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
