NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — Toledo Bend Project Joint Operation announced that they were opening all 11 gates at the Toledo Bend Reservoir at one foot a piece and both generators are operating this morning.
Toledo Bend has not been spared from the heavy flooding that has wreaked havoc throughout much of Southeast Texas earlier this week, rising to about 172.7 feet according to the TBPJO.
According to the TBPJO, spillway releases are mandatory when the reservoir reaches 172.5 feet or higher.
In total, 24,233 cubic feet per second of water is being released from the reservoir through the 11 gates and two generators.
