BEAUMONT, Texas — If you need a little help for you and your family on Thanksgiving, you can pick up a turkey some of the fixins' for Thanksgiving dinner without getting out of your car.
The 2nd annual "South Park Community Initiative" drive-thru event will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Alice Keith Park located at 4050 Reed Street.
It's all about "showing appreciation and encouragement" to those who live in the same neighborhood where Arlinda Williams grew up.
Williams is sponsoring the event to help families in need for the holiday.
"The intent of this initiative is to assist families in need by providing turkeys and other essential Thanksgiving food items to those who reside in the South Park community and surrounding areas. This is not funded by the city of Beaumont or any officials, but by someone who wants to make a difference and love on others this upcoming holiday season," Williams said.
