One person dead, another injured after two crop-dusting planes collide in a Texas city

According to Texas DPS, the planes were spraying a cotton field when they collided.

MORTON, Texas — Two crop-dusting planes collided mid-air killing one person on board and injuring another Friday morning.

The Cochran County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 8:30a.m. east of Morton, Texas which is about an hour away from Lubbock. 

According to Texas DPS, the planes were spraying a cotton field when they collided. 

One passenger died as a result and the pilot suffered mild injuries, officials say. 

NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash. 

No other information was provided.
