BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police have given the all-clear and say a suspicious package found Tuesday night at a Beaumont apartment complex was empty.
A 12News reporter discovered a suspicious package at The Pointe Apartments on Old Dowlen Road at around 7:30 p.m on Tuesday.
The reporter called police as a precaution after a legitimate device was found at the Dowlen Rd Starbucks last week.
Police arrived and discovered a chip box duct taped. Police told 12News that those types of boxes aren't normally duct taped, at which point police called for additional assistance, and told residents of the apartment complex to stay indoors as a precaution.
Police shut down Old Dowlen Rd for about two hours while the box was investigated.
