SPURGER, Texas — Classes at Spurger Independent School District are cancelled Friday, Nov 10, 2023 due to a "large number" of student and staff illnesses.
The district says they will use this time to perform a deep clean of all district facilities and buses.
Because of the cancellation, the district had to cancel its' Veteran's Day program.
"Spurger ISD is thankful for our veterans and we are looking forward to having our program next year," officials said in a Facebook post.
The JV boys, Varsity girls and Varsity boys' basketball games on Friday have all been moved to Sabine Pass. The first game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
