Southeast Texas student named a National Ambassador for influential poem against violence

MAURICEVILLE, Texas — A Southeast Texas student was named a National Ambassador for her influential poem against violence.

The work of Taylor Bean, a Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD student, was published and showcased in the Library of Congress alongside submissions from students across the country.

Bean also placed third in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Patriot's Pen essay contest. 

She was accompanied by her 8th grade Reading Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Lyons.
