Fatboy was originally a stray cat in Vidor before Annie Barragan took him in.

Barragan says she noticed Fatboy limping when he would come around to get a bite of her cat's food. A couple of weeks went by and the injury only got worse.

According to McGowan Veterinary Hospital, Fatboy's break was too severe to repair, so it had to be amputated.

Barragan says she couldn't stand to see Fatboy in pain, so she's turning to other resources.

"Anybody who has a heart that is willing to donate just take the time and donate. I know they're animals, I know they're not humans but to us and certain individuals they're like our children," said Barragan.

Leeroys Second Chance Cats is accepting donations through Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. You can also donate directly to the vet.

In addition to surgery, Fatboy will also be neutered and receive all his vaccinations. He's now being cared for by Barragan who welcomed him into her home.
