ORANGE COUNTY — The family of a West Brook graduate killed in a 2015 crane accident agreed to a settlement of a wrongful death lawsuit hours before the civil trial was set to begin.
Landon Russell, 20, worked for Trans-Global Solutions, Inc. when he died June 26, 2015. He was working with a crane at the Port of Beaumont facility on the Orange County side of the Neches River. According to the lawsuit filed by his family, the crane was modified creating a situation that led to his death.
Jury selection in the trial began Monday morning, but before noon both sides announced they had reached an undisclosed settlement.
