On Saturday, Ranger Madeline "Maddie" Martin announced that the park was unable to reopen on July 20 due to ongoing recovery efforts.

The park is making repairs to floors, replacing electronics, doors and other things in the headquarters building that flooded during Beryl.

The headquarters building does not have power right now, but it isn't the fault of the energy company, according to Ranger Maddie.

Crews are working to clean, empty and sanitize the restrooms that flooded during the storm.

"There’s no trash cans on any of the beaches west, east or central, so we are hard at work getting some frames built for those, getting those installed so that the beaches can be sanitary before everybody comes back," said Ranger Maddie on a Facebook post. "East is completely inaccessible right now, that washout right there at the access road is probably going to be the new normal for a little while, that is going to take quite a long time to heal even after we open back up to the public."

The Piper Plover Camping Loop is having issues with electronics and will take longer to reopen for campers.

"We just wanna [want to] make sure everybody is safe when they come and camp in the park," said Ranger Maddie.

Sea Rim has received help from nearby state parks and from region and state headquarters.

"Everybody who helped out during the initial evacuation, getting our stuff back in here and the clean up after that, we're really grateful for all of your help," she said.

There will be more updates about the beach, general park cleanup and activities once the park is open to the public.

With recovery efforts still underway, the park will remain closed until further notice.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
