DEWEYVILLE — Deweyville students will be back to school Tuesday after rising river levels posed a flooding threat, prompting school administrators to close school Monday.
School will be back in session Tuesday, January 8, Deweyville ISD Superintendent Keith Jones said in an emailed statement.
"There are still some areas of our district that are facing the possibility of flooding, but we need to open the doors for the ones who need us when at all possible," Jones said.
Any staff or students with flood-related concerns keeping them from returning to school should contact their school administrator as soon as possible, Jones said.
"Stay safe. Don't drive through dangerous floodwater," Jones said. "Let us know what we can do to help."
