Salvation Army's "Red Kettle Campaign" ends

Salvation Army Commanding Officer Kenneth Fagan says this year's donations were at least 15 percent higher than their local goal.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A successful run for the Salvation Army. Donations for their "Red Kettle Campaign" here in Beaumont exceeded expectations.

Salvation Army Commanding Officer Kenneth Fagan says this year's donations were at least 15 percent higher than their local goal.

However, he says the need for support continues beyond the holidays as more Southeast Texans turn to them for help.

"Though we met our Red Kettle goal for this year, we are running behind in revenue for our total budget. So, we're hoping that folks may will consider maybe giving an end of the year gift to help us make our full fundraising bowl for the year," Fagan said.

Donations made now will bolster the organization's year-round initiatives.

This includes sheltering those experiencing homelessness and providing emergency assistance.
