Resident escapes second story of burning house near Hillebrandt Bayou

The fire started around 1 a.m. Monday morning. One person escaped from the second story of the home.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters battled flames at a house near Hillebrandt Bayou early Monday morning. 

The fire started around 1 a.m. Monday, April 27 near Humble Camp Road in Jefferson County, Jefferson County ESD #4 said in a Facebook post. 

First responders found a two story house with visible flames, firefighters said. One person inside escaped from the second story of the home while police and firefighters tried to get into the residence. 

No one was injured in the fire, and the cause remains under investigation. 

Hamshire Volunteer Fire Department and Jefferson County ESD #3 in China and Nome also helped to put out the blaze.
