JASPER, Texas — Jasper residents are waking up to restored power after a citywide outage started Saturday afternoon.
The City of Jasper lost the main power feed from Entergy yesterday.
When Entergy crew arrived on the scene at Marvin Hancock Drive, they discovered that a tree had fell on the main feed line that serves the city, according to the City of Jasper. A pole was broken with lines down.
"A tree fell, which broke the top of the pole and the conductor," said an Entergy communications representative. "Our crews worked through the night to make repairs and power has been restored."
City crews completed repairs where the tree fell on the line. High winds played a role in the citywide power outage, according to a post from the City of Jasper.
Marvin Hancock Dr. is open for all traffic.
If you do not have power, contact the City of Jasper's power outage line at 409-384-4651 to report it.
