ORANGE, Texas — Tomorrow marks one year since the groundbreaking of the $8.5 million Golden Triangle Polymers in Orange.
Now there's a hiring fair tomorrow to find the local talent that will run the facility. They're expecting hundreds maybe even thousands of workers to show up and put their best foot forward.
The hiring fair is happening at the Orange Expo Center. It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Orange leaders have seen continued growth both in the city and surrounding area since the groundbreaking.
"This is the largest project the largest thing that's come to Orange County since I've been here it is a game changer for our community when it comes to the economic benefit in our community for the job potential for our youth as their growing up to have jobs locally," Orange County Judge John Gothia previously told 12News.
Caroline Brandon is helping organize the job fair. She says there will be plenty of available jobs for local workers to fill.
"We are working with the Texas Workforce Commission with the local first initiative to help fill these roles...we want to make sure our community is getting the opportunity for these jobs with the workforce coming into our area," she said.
Dozens of companies are working directly with the plant and will also be searching for the perfect candidates.
"You have a lot of construction contractors who are looking for that local talent," Brandon said. "We are so excited for the area and that it's right here in the Golden Triangle. Highlighting Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange and all around."
