Port Neches businesses recovering from TPC explosion

If you drive down Port Neches Avenue, it won't be hard to spot the aftermath of Wednesday's explosions.

PORT NECHES, Texas — A lot of Port Neches businesses along what locals call "The Avenue" were rocked by the blast.

If you drive down Port Neches Avenue, It won't be hard to spot the aftermath of Wednesday's explosions at the TPC plant.

"It blew out the front windows, which is crazy considering the thickness of them," said Dana Evans, who owns property off Port Neches Avenue.

She said as soon as Friday's evacuation order was lifted, she didn't hesitate to race back to work.

Next door, The Avenue Coffee and Cafe got pounded by Wednesday's blast. The coffee shop told 12News they have "cleaned up and are ready to roll" at 7 a.m. tomorrow for Small Business Saturday.

Neches Brewing Company was left untouched. The owner, Tyler Blount, said he knows it could have been a lot worse.

"You kind of forget about it sometimes and take it for granted that this could happen," Blount said.

Roxanne Angelle works at the Cherry Tree Florist. She just returned to the shop.

"All the items were on the floor, they were knocked off the shelves and pictures off the walls," she said.

These businesses are counting on you to help with recovering from this disaster.
