Utility crews in Port Arthur deal with two water main breaks on Tuesday

More than a week ago most of the city was affected by a water main break.

BEAUMONT, Texas — City utility crews in Port Arthur are keeping busy Tuesday dealing with two water main breaks in the city.

Before noon, utility crews were working on a water main break in the 4100 block of Lemon Tree St, according to a news release from the city.

The city reported that the outage may affect residents and businesses from Jimmy Johnson Blvd to Turtle Creek Dr. between 9th Ave and Friar Point Ln.

The city said at the time that they expected repairs to take between two and four hours.

Several hours later, about five miles to the south, city utility crews were sent to deal with a water main break in the 3100 block of Tyrrell Pkwy according to a news release from the city.

The Tyrrell Pkwy outage may affect residents and businesses from Sunken Ct. to 32nd St. between West Park Dr. to Twin City Highway for about six hours according to the city.

More than a week ago most of the city was affected by a water main break that triggered a boil water notice for the entire city for several days.

The city also dealt with several water main breaks in March 2024.
