BEAUMONT, Texas — Nearly 200 Southeast Texas Pickleball players have been competing in a tournament over the weekend and it's all for a good cause.
Golden Triangle Roofing Specialist and The Southeast Texas Pickleball Club teamed up for their 2nd annual tournament that benefits "Toys for Tots," at the Beaumont Tennis Center located at 6475 College Street in Beaumont.
Tournament Director Kelly Herr says they raise money for the organization from registrations and set up toy donation boxes.
So far, the turnout has been great, she said.
"Our pickleball community is just incredible. I never worked with a group of people that just want to help, they want to play, they wanna do whatever they can to be involved in this community," she said.
Herr says last year they turned in about $6000 worth of toys.
