BEAUMONT, Texas — The Cotton Creek Winery will officially close its doors on Saturday, June 29 according to an announcement from the winery's owner.
The decision to close Cotton Creek was made after things did not work out with the previous buyer of the winery, according to owner Traci Tucker. She is no longer able to keep open and operate the winery.
"The ideas that were created, the relationships that we made, and the memories that will last a lifetime - Artie and I were so grateful and thankful," Tucker said in a social media update.
Tucker announced on March 11 that the winery would be up for sale.
"Almost nine years ago, Artie and I fulfilled a dream that we had and bought our winery," said Tucker in a March 11 update. "So many plans, so many ideas, so many things we had that we wanted to accomplish. Even though we accomplished some of those plans, we still had so much more to do."
Artie Tucker, husband of Traci Tucker, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the age of 58. Before passing, Tucker was battling stage 4 lung and liver cancer.
"When Artie passed, so did a piece of me and I tried my best to keep our dream going but I am no longer able to and with that it breaks my heart," she said. "My love to all of you – I will never be able to thank you, our customers enough for the support that you have shown us at Cotton Creek Winery and for the support that you have shown my family when we lost Artie."
Customers will be able to support the business up until June 29.
"We would love to see you, hug you, share memories and make sure to stock up on your wine until we run out," said Tucker.
