Orange County Sheriff's Office investigating all possible leads after anonymous caller made threats to Orangefield campuses Monday

Preliminary investigations found that the threat was not credible, but the investigation is ongoing.

ORANGEFIELD, Texas — On Monday, May 13, the Orange County Sheriff's Office along with multiple other law enforcement agencies rushed to several Orangefield Independent School District campuses.

The large response from law enforcement came after an anonymous caller issued threats to multiple Orangefield campuses and indicated their intent to harm students and faculty, according to an OCSO news release.

Students were already being released to go home early because of severe weather but out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement heavily saturated the area as students filed out of the school.

Preliminary investigations found that the threat was not credible, but the investigation is ongoing.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is investigating all possible leads and will be pursuing charges against the person or persons responsible, according to the release.
