ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — Voters in Orange County will now have more options on where to vote in the upcoming election.
The Texas Secretary of State has approved voting centers for Orange County, meaning residents will be able to vote at any polling site, not just a specific site according to the district they live in.
This plan was first approved by the Orange County Commissioners Court on December 13, 2022.
After the municipal and school board elections May 2023, the county will hold a public forum to see if the change was successful.
New equipment needed for the voting centers has already been purchased using federal grant money.
