Beaumont homeowner arrested after shooting at man inside his car

Police found the homeowner after a short, on-foot pursuit several blocks from the incident.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A man has been taken to the hospital after being shot at while in his car, according to Beaumont Police. 

Police responded to a home in the 2900 block of Avenue C in reference to shots fired. 

The victim came to meet Jimmy Lee Euglon, a 50 year old Beaumont resident, in Beaumont. 

Upon arrival, Euglon shot at the victim multiple times while he was in his car, according to officers. Officers say the issue stemmed from a conflict over money. 

The homeowner, Euglon, left the scene on foot when officers arrived in the area. Police found Euglon after a short, on-foot pursuit several blocks from the incident, according to a news release.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers arrested Euglon for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 

He's in custody at the Jefferson County Jail. His bond is set for $75,000.
