A woman has been killed at the ExxonMobil refinery in Beaumont on Friday.
A contract worker on a new construction project that began last year in the refinery was killed Friday in an accident according to ExxonMobil spokesperson Ashley Smith Alemayehu.
The construction project has been shut down and all maintenance has been stopped at the refinery according to Alemayehu.

On Dec. 1, a contractor was fatally injured in an incident at ExxonMobil’s construction project at the Beaumont refinery.We are greatly saddened by this and express our deepest sympathy to the worker’s family and co-workers.
The person involved was immediately attended to by emergency responders.
