One of the Beaumont Casa Ole locations is closing its doors for good

Employees of the longtime restaurant confirmed the closure to 12News.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Casa Ole by I-10 and Calder in Beaumont is closing Friday, August 23 at 5 p.m. for the final time.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: 12News previously reported that the Eastex Freeway location was closing. We have confirmed that location is remaining open.)

Employees of the longtime restaurant confirmed the closure to 12News. They say the building's lease ran out.

Southeast Texas still has Casa Ole locations that are remaining open. This includes Port Arthur, Orange, Jasper, Silsbee and Vidor.

12News has reached out to Casa Ole's corporate office for more information.

Casa Ole was first opened in 1973 in Pasadena.

Tom Harken, who passed away in 2013, opened opened 13 Casa Ole and Crazy Jose restaurants in Southeast Texas. A Casa Ole commercial that aired for years had a catchy jingle "It's another Casa Ole day."

12News reached out to Lindsey Hunt, the President of MRI, the parent company of Casa Ole, and she said,

“Yes, sadly we did close our Calder location. Our Parkdale location is still open. Also the other East Texas locations remain open. We still have 12 corporate locations and five franchise locations throughout Texas. We are just beyond proud of our rich history in Texas and are dedicated to remaining a household name. So thank you for giving us some love today, and we hope people come in soon and see us so we can celebrate."

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
