One person injured, one arrested after boat crash on Taylor Bayou

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — One person has been injured after a boat crash on Taylor Bayou.

Captain Ryan Hall with Texas Parks and Wildlife tells 12News that three people were alligator hunting on Taylor Bayou and were passing under the Boondocks Bridge. One of the passengers didn't duck in time and hit his head.

The victim suffered major head injuries and face lacerations.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene, and the victim was taken to UTMB Galveston. Captain Hall says that the victim was conscious when taken away but he does not have an update on their condition.

The driver of the boat was investigated at the scene and was arrested for intoxicated assault. They are in the Jefferson COunty Jail.
