BEAUMONT, Texas — City of Beaumont crews are working Monday to deal with a large oak tree that fell unexpectedly in downtown sometime early Monday morning.
The large oak tree was growing on the south side of the front of the Julie Rogers Theatre on Pearl St not far from the front of the main branch of the Beaumont Public Library.
The roots of the tree, which is 150-years-old, rotted and gave out, according to a City of Beaumont Facebook post.
City crews are working to remove the tree and repair damage to an irrigation system according to the Facebook post.
There was no damage to the building and no one was injured when the tree fell.
