BRIDGE CITY, Texas — Bridge City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the fire around 1:39 p.m. on Briggs Road. They were assisted by the West Orange McLewis Fire Department, according to Bridge City Fire Chief Elgin Browning.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported, according to Browning.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but Browning says it is not related to Christmas Decorations.

The house is not a total loss, but has significant damage due to smoke and water, according to Browning.
