Power mostly restored to nearly 3,000 in Hardin County, crews still at work

Northbound traffic on Hwy. 69 in Lumberton is now flowing again in both directions.

LUMBERTON, Texas — According to Entergy, more than 3,000 people were without power in Hardin County Monday evening. 

Entergy told 12News they were called about 6:30 after an 18-wheeler hit a Spectrum cable line, causing a fire with electrical equipment near Walmart.

Lumberton Fire & EMS Hardin County ESD #2 posted on Facebook to let drivers know about traffic issues caused by the incident. 

Entergy and Spectrum crews were called to help repair the damages.  

Northbound traffic on Hwy. 69/LHS Dr. was being diverted to the Walmart parking lot, but all lanes have since reopened after more than an hour. 

Crews are still working in the area, so drivers should use caution. 

As of 9 p.m., 33 customers were still without power in Hardin County.
