FOUND: Brenna Swindell, daughter of former UT, Astros pitcher Greg Swindell, found safe in Oregon, police say

Greg Swindell posted to X this morning that his daughter was located. Police confirmed her ex, Morgan Guidry, was taken into custody.

AUSTIN, Texas โ€” Brenna Swindell, the daughter of former Texas Longhorns and Houston Astros pitcher Greg Swindell, was found safe in Oregon around midnight, authorities said.

Greg Swindell posted on X Tuesday morning that his daughter was found. Austin police confirmed to KHOU 11 that she was located safely and that her ex, Morgan Guidry, was taken into custody. He had an outstanding warrant for family violence out of Travis County in Texas.

Police in Klamath Falls, Oregon, said the two were driving through the town when officers identified the vehicle as stolen. Officers arrested Guidry on his outstanding warrant. They said Brenna showed no signs of injury or trauma.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation. TCSO said they had previously responded to a family disturbance call involving Brenna and Guidry on July 7 and on August 20, she told detectives she was ready to press charges.

Austin police said that before she was found, Brenna was last seen the night of Aug. 22 at a bar in Spicewood, Texas with Guidry. Days later, her parents called law enforcement to do a welfare check on Aug. 24. Deputies were unable to locate her or her vehicle at her apartment, TCSO said.

According to Austin police, both of their phones were turned off.  During the search, Brenna's car, a 2022 Kia Carnival, may have been seen in Colorado near Colorado Springs and Denver.

When the two were located, Guidry was arrested on an open warrant in the family violence case. Court documents showed Brenna accused Guidry of choking her during a domestic violence incident last month. She later told police she feared that he would kill her.

Brenna's father, Greg Swindell, played 17 years in Major League Baseball, including several years with the Astros. He played at the University of Texas in Austin and Sharpstown High School in Houston.
