BEAUMONT, Texas — In an effort to get more Southeast Texans tested for COVID-19 and to reduce demand on area hospitals the MD Group’s MD Kids Pediatric clinic in Beaumont will be offering free drive-thru coronavirus testing, according to a news release from the clinic.
Testing will be available by appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, April 14, the release said.
Appointments can be made for children two and older as well as adults by calling or texting the clinic at 888-776-5252, the release said.
Treatment for those who need it will also be available at the clinic which remains open during the testing.

The Group also said they are still requiring COVID-19 drive thru patients to be screened for flu and strep throat.
"Most patients that we are seeing are showing up with flu-like symptoms—fever, sore throat, and upper respiratory complaints. We are also seeing a lot of positive flu cases amid the coronavirus pandemic. The flu and strep tests will allow us to treat positive cases with antibiotics. We are not only testing, we are also providing treatment to patients that need it.” said Chief Medical Director, Dr. Ana Rodriguez.
