ORANGE, Texas — Mardi Gras on the Sabine festivities kick off in Orange tonight.
The City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting their 20th annual Mardi Gras event.
Families and festival goers should show up with an empty stomach because there's going to be lots of food trucks, Zydeco music and a concert for all to enjoy.
Tomorrow, visitors can enjoy the Mardi Gras parade.
"Definitely the Zydeco music from Chris Ardoin, and the food. Everybody wants to come out for the food and Rudy's is here if that's enough said then you need to come on out," said Orange Event Manager Brandy Judice.
Rudy's Kabobs, owned by Rudy Bermudez, is one of seven vendors at the event.
"We have pork, chicken, steak shrimp, fried rice and eggrolls," Bermudez said.
His kabobs are a fusion of Middle Eastern and Asian flavors.
"Grill or charcoal, and we always do fresh, we stick the meet on the spot.," he said.
Bermudez says he puts all his love into each kabob and enjoys working Orange's Mardi Gras celebrations.
"Orange is one of the good place, good people, and that's why I always, I always enjoy to do the event here in Orange, Texas," said Bermudez.
Mardi Gras on the Sabine will include a concert at 7 p.m. Tonight visitors can enjoy the Zydeco music and live DJ.
"The gates open at 5 p.m. today, at 7 p.m. we'll have Chris Ardoin go on stage until 9 p.m.," said Judice.
Tomorrow's Mardi Gras parade on Front Ave starting at 6 p.m. will include 12 floats.
"And out of those krewes there five royalty, where they'll have the big headdresses, and the big costumes on," Judice said.
The parade route begins and ends at Riverside Pavilion.
"We want the kids to come out there, going to be throwing beads, balls, cups, any kind of toys. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Should be a pretty lengthy parade," Judice told 12News.
It's suggested that those that are coming out to bring chairs, blankets something to sit down on to sit on the tailgate and enjoy the parade.
Unfortunately, due to the rain all activities besides the parade on Saturday are canceled.
