Man, woman arrested in connection with heroin, fentanyl distribution in Vidor area

ORANGE, Texas — A man and a woman were arrested Thursday in connection with an Orange County investigation into the sale of heroin and fentanyl in and around Vidor.

The arrests were made after a "narcotics search and arrest" warrant was served by Orange County deputies and Vidor officers Thursday at a trailer in the Smith Lake RV Park just outside the Vidor city limits according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Glen Earl Horton, Jr. and Paula Yvette Wilcox were both arrested a charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1-B the release said. The charge involved heroin and fentanyl.

The pair was also charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one. The drug involved in this charge is methamphetamine.

Deputies and officers found heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine inside the trailer but did not specifically say how much according to the release.

They also found two handguns and "paraphernalia for distribution" described as baggies and digital scales.

The investigation was in response to information and complaints detectives received about heroin and fentanyl being sold in the Vidor area the release said.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office's criminal investigations division, patrol division and Vidor officers were involved in serving the warrant and making the arrests.
