LUMBERTON, Texas — Lumberton is experiencing major growth along Highway 69 where concrete slabs and dirt are in place for at least two new commercial properties.
Lumberton City Manager Steve Clark tells 12News that leaders are working to make the city an enjoyable town for families.
Along Highway 69, dirt is being moved and old buildings are being repurposed to make way for a new Auto Zone, Toasted Yolk and a dental clinic. These are just a few of the things coming to the city soon.
Clark says Dental Square will have several leasing spaces available, so that even more business owners can have a place to set up shop.
Shopping local has many perks, according to Clark.
"Shopping local means the sales tax that you spend stays inside the city. Inside the city, that sales tax percentage goes to our city to run it," Clark said.
He says the city's goal is to enhance the quality of life for families who choose to live in Lumberton.
Even more business are expected to set up in Lumberton like Shipley's Do-Nuts and a T-Mobile store.
Clark says Auto Zone hopes to be completed by the end of 2024.
