BATON ROUGE, La. — The wide-spread computer system outage at the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles was restored after several hours.
The outage began Monday morning . The OMV said in a post on social media, that due to the system outage, it would currently be unable to process driver's licenses, vehicle registration, and reinstatement transactions.
OMV Deputy Director Austin Badon told WWL Louisiana that the department's computer "mainframe system" went down. The service was restored around 1:00 p.m.
Residents were asked to visit the OMV's website, expresslane.org, to reschedule appointments.
