ORANGE, Texas — To reign in the holiday spirit for Southeast Texans, an entire day dedicated to Christmas-themed events has been planned for the beginning of December.
The "Downtown Christmas" fun event will be on December 2, 2023 located in downtown Orange.
The Explore Orange team partnered with the Stark Foundation, Kiwanis, Heritage House, and Lamar State College Orange to bring the holiday spirit to the community.
Please note, dogs and coolers will not be allowed at the Gumdrop Shop.
Visitors can spend the day strolling throughout Stark Park and find unique items provided by a multitude of artists and crafters from southeast Texas, southwest Louisiana, and surrounding areas.
Food and drink vendors will be available on site.
Registration for the Gumdrop Shop will be first come, first serve by turning in an application and registration fee to the Convention & Visitors Bureau office.
Schedule of Events
7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. Visitors can have breakfast with Santa Clause at Spanky’s Bar & Grill located on 1703 N 16th Street.
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Guests can browse the Gumdrop Shop at Stark Park located on 7th Street.
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Visitors can stroll the Stark Museum of Art Open located on 712 Green Avenue.
3 p.m.-5 p.m. Guests can bring their children to the Stark Museum Children's Holiday Craft Handout located on 712 Green Avenue.
12 p.m.-5 p.m. Families can join the Stark Family Christmas Tours located on 712 Green Avenue.
1 p.m.-3 p.m. Visitors can watch Buddy the Elf presented by Heritage House Museum located on 905 W Division Street.
6 p.m.- Families can attend the Kiwanis 74th Annual "Toys That Made US" Christmas Parade that begins on Front Street and circles the block by taking a right on 10th Street, then a right onto Green Avenue, and then a last right onto First street before ending on Front Street.
Following the parade, visitors can watch the “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” Movie, witness the lighting of the tree, and take pictures with Santa in Stark Park.
