BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University will be celebrating its 2023 homecoming this coming Saturday afternoon with multiple activities and a Friday night bonfire.
The celebrations begin Friday evening with a 6:30 p.m. bonfire at Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum and end with the Saturday homecoming game against Texas A&M Commerce.
Kickoff for the game is at 3 p.m. Saturday at Provost-Umphrey Stadium on the Lamar campus.
The halftime show at the game will feature the crowning of the homecoming king and queen and the Showcase of Southeast Texas.

- 8 a.m. - Parent & Family Day (Registration Required) at the Setzer Student Center
- Calling all parents and families of current LU students!
- Come visit your favorite Cardinal and join us for a great day of special events.
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Big Red's Ride - Classic & Antique Car Show at Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum
- 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Big Red's Boomtown Tailgate at Montagne Center Parking Lot E-3
- Live music, food, & free kids activities
- 11 a,m, - LU Volleyball vs. Nicholls State at McDonald Gym
- Support your Lady Cardinals as they take on Nicholls State Colonels!
- Noon - 4 p.m. Free Admission to Art Exhibitions at Dishman Art Museum
- Exhibitions: Flatbed Press: A Selection of Contemporary Prints.
- A celebration of printmaking techniques, styles, and subjects, featuring original prints by John Alexander, Keith Carter, and others.
- Liminal: Photographs by Cathy Spence.
- Landscapes by Beaumont photographer Cathy Spence capture moments of transition and the margins between the colors of the skies and grasses, the land and water.
- Exhibitions: Flatbed Press: A Selection of Contemporary Prints.
- 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. - Alumni Pregame Party (Registration Required) at The Montagne Center
