Jefferson County dump truck flips along U.S. Highway 90, spills its load

The driver appeared to be conscious and alert when he was taken by ambulance to a Southeast Texas hospital.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a wreck involving a Jefferson County dump truck Monday morning in China.

First responders and troopers were sent to the wreck at about 11 a.m. Monday morning in the 200 block of U.S. Highway 90 in China.

An eastbound dump truck from Jefferson County's Precinct One ended up upside down in the median of the highway in front of the Dollar General store.

The driver, a 54-year-old Beaumont man, left the road traveling into the median where he lost control causing the truck to flip and partially block the eastbound lanes according to a news release from DPS>

The driver appeared to be conscious and alert when he was taken by ambulance to a Southeast Texas hospital. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries according to DPS.

The wreck, which left a load of dirt spilled in the median, did not involve any other vehicles.
