JASPER, Texas — One Southeast Texas child is making her debut on 'Little Big Shots' Sunday, more than a year after 12News' first story on her in 2018.
Parson Herrington is known for her special bond between herself and her UPS driver. Now, she's back, but on a bigger stage. At the age of 7, the Jasper native had lived through a lot of challenges. She had received a double lung transplants, taken numerous trips to the hospital and was taking lots of medicines daily.
Herrington formed a special bond with Tammy Patrick, a UPS driver.
12News was there when the UPS driver surprised the girl with her own personal uniform and truck through the 'Wishes Delivered' program.
The Herrington family received an even bigger surprise in August. Parson was offered a chance to appear on the NBC hit show 'Little Big Shots.'
"They called us out of the blue and said we want her to come to little big shots. and I said oh you misunderstood... we don't have a talent. and they said.. no this year we want a kid that has a story and if this kid has anything she has a story."
The show features kids from across the world who have amazing talents, and in Parson's case, an inspiring story of generosity and courage.
Her segment aired at 6 p.m. central on KJAC-NBC.
