JASPER COUNTY, Texas — Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell Newman confirmed to 12News on Monday that Chief Deputy Glenn Blank has died.
Blank experienced lung failure in 2016, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition in Houston. Blank had a double lung transplant in December 2016.
He was ultimately able to return to work at the sheriff's office.
Newman confirmed on Monday that Blank had been hospitalized after struggling with his health for several months.
Blank died on Monday at the age of 38.
Funeral services have not yet been set.
