JASPER COUNTY, Texas — The Jasper County Commissioners Court has appointed a new Tax Assessor-Collector.
Joe Hawthorn has been chosen as the acting Tax Assessor-Collector.
Hawthorn took the oath of office Tuesday, February 5 after the passing of former position holder Bobby Biscamp who passed away last Friday.
Hawthorn is taking over Biscamp's term, which ends this year. However Hawthorn is already on the ballot next term for the Republican Primary for Tax Assessor-Collector.
