PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Medical Center of Southeast Texas will soon be under new management after Healthcare Systems of America (HSA) has agreed to assume operational control over Steward Health Care facilities in several states.
On Wednesday, September 11, HSA will assume daily operations of the multiple Steward Health Care facilities in Texas, Louisiana and Florida according to a press release from HSA.
The facilities include:
- Glenwood Regional Medical Center – West Monroe, LA
- St. Joseph Medical Center – Houston, TX
- Medical Center SE Texas – Port Arthur – Port Arthur, TX
- Coral Gables Hospital – Coral Gables, FL
- Florida Medical Center – Lauderdale Lakes, FL
- Hialeah Hospital – Hialeah, FL
- North Shore Medical Center – Miami, FL
- Palmetto General Hospital – Hialeah, FL

Prior to this acquisition, the future of Medical Center of Southeast Texas was in question after their parent company, Steward Healthcare Systems, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
