ORANGE, Texas — Both sides of Highway 105 in Orange have been reopened after a crash caused both sides to be shut down.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon near the 7800 block and was a head-on collision involving two cars.
12News crew at the scene says that one person was taken to hospital by ambulance and one was flown to a hospital.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating the crash.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that around 3 p.m., a Volkswagen Pasaat was traveling west, while a GMC pickup was traveling east. The driver of the Volkswagen traveled on the wrong side of the road while entering a curve and struck the pickup head-on according to DPS.
The driver of the Volkswagen was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment and then to Memorial Hermann in Houston for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
